The national president of the National Commercial Tricycle Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (NATMORAS), Alhaji Mohammed Sani Hassan, has announced that the association’s members will not participate in the upcoming planned protest.

In an interview with newsmen in Abuja, he emphasized that NATMORAS members are focused on their livelihoods and will not engage in activities that could disrupt their daily business.

Hassan stated, “Our members are struggling for their daily bread and will not waste their time joining the planned protest. NATMORAS stands as ambassadors of peace.”

He urged all members nationwide to desist from participating in the protest and continue with their regular activities.

He also commented on the broader economic issues facing the country, noting that if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu decides to halt the protest, he could do so by reversing the removal of the fuel subsidy and stabilizing the exchange rate of the naira against the dollar.

According to him, such actions would address the primary grievances of the protest organisers, as reinstating the fuel subsidy could alleviate up to seventy-five percent of the economic hardships currently being experienced by Nigerians.

Hassan acknowledged the tough economic times but argued that protests are not the solution, warning that they could exacerbate the situation.

He cited examples of other countries where protests led to prolonged instability.

He appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider the government’s stance and take measures to avert the planned protest, suggesting that a different approach could help resolve the issues at hand more effectively.
