The Niger Delta Youths for Positive Change (NYDPC) has urged Nigerians to shun violence and avoid protests during this period of uncertainty and tension caused by economic challenges in the country.
The group stressed the need to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, which aims to foster robust economic prosperity and job creation with the involvement of policymakers in government, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations.
In a statement by the group’s coordinator, Comrade Elliot Yibakeni Yibalua, NYDPC, expressed deep concern about the escalating tensions and the potential for violence, calling on all Nigerians to remain calm and peaceful.
“We urge all Nigerians to reject violence and embrace peace. We must work together to build a united and prosperous country and not allow our differences to tear us apart,” he said.
The group also thanked the Presidential Amnesty Programme, led by Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for offering statesmanlike advice to Nigerians during this challenging period.
“As a respected leader, the Presidential Amnesty Programme Administrator has shown stellar leadership and guidance qualities, which have been invaluable in these challenging times.
“His commitment to peace, unity, and development is exemplary, and we urge all Nigerians to follow his advice not to allow themselves to be used to settle political scores or to unleash destruction on government infrastructure,” he said.
The group commended President Tinubu for his renewed hope agenda, stating that it has the potential to transform the country and improve the lives of all Nigerians.
“We believe in the president’s vision for a better Nigeria, and we urge all Nigerians to support him in this noble endeavor,” he added.
The group further appealed to protesters to sheathe their swords and engage in peaceful dialogue with the government.
He stressed that they understand the frustrations and grievances of the protesters, but they must find peaceful ways to resolve their differences
The group assured Nigerians that it would continue to work tirelessly to promote peace, unity, and development in the country.
“We are committed to building a better Nigeria for all, and we will not rest until we achieve this goal,” he said.
