Gov Buni Reviews Curfew In Potiskum, Gashua, Nguru

Following the gradual and considerable improvement of the security situation after disturbances due to protest, the Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has reviewed the 24-hour curfew imposed in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru local government areas.

A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Affairs, Brigadier General, Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), said the curfew is to now relaxed from 12.00 noon and 5.00p.m for people to undertake their lawful activities with effects from Sunday, 4th August 2024.

“The security agencies are enjoined to maintain the current level of security alertness and ensure that no space is given to hoodlums and miscreants to perpetuate any act of lawlessness during the curfew relaxation period.

“Consequently, law abiding citizens are requested to carry out their lawful activities during the intervening period (12:00 noon to 5:00pm) while the period between 5:00pm to 12:00 noon remains restricted,” it added.
