“Your request for land to build your secretariat in the state is in order and we are going to accede to the request,” announced the former bank chief executive.

“I will ask my principal secretary to engage with the honourable commissioner for lands and housing to identify a suitable place for the secretariat to be erected,” he said.

He also invited the institute to buy into the two proposed state-of-the-art smart cities in the state capital, Umuahia, and the commercial nerve centre, Aba, and the low-cost housing projects.

Earlier in an address, the public relations officer of the institute, Kelechi Adiele said they came to identify with the governor and to discuss ways of deepening their relationship with each other.

They commended the governor for “his visible and verifiable achievements in infrastructure, service delivery, and security which has enhanced the productivity and the economy of the state”.

“For instance, prior to your assumption of office, banks were no longer working on Mondays. This had affected our turnover negatively and the security of the workers. But now, the narrative has changed,” he added.
