Adekuoroye, who aimed to continue her Olympic medal quest, started the fight in an impressive fashion, by leading 4-0, before the Chinese came from behind to level the score 4-4 few minutes later.

Getting to the closing stages of the fight, the Chinese star gathered momentum and put Adekuoroye to the sword to book the semifinal ticket with a final score of 10-8.

Adekuoroye would now hope that the China’s Hong would make it to the Wrestling 57kg final to fancy her chances to compete in the repechage.
