Assembly Raises Kwara 2024 Budget By N217.1bn

The Kwara State House of Assembly yesterday approved the supplementary budget of N509, 889,985,435.90 for the state government.

The original state’s 2024 budget of N292, 741,292,132. 30 has thus been jerked up by 217, 180,693,303.

The budget was considered and approved by the Committee of Supply during yesterday’s plenary.

While laying the report, the chairperson of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Arinola Lawal, explained that the budget would be used for capital projects and the completion of ongoing and new infrastructures across the state.

Lawal,  however, urged her colleagues to support the passage of the budget for the development of the state.

The speaker of the House, Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu thereafter announced the passage of the supplementary appropriation budget after the majority of the lawmakers supported it through a voice vote.
