The event, held in Lagos, recognized students who completed qualifications in Marketing (CIM UK), Digital Marketing (DMI Ireland), and Project Management (PMI US).

Under the theme “Orchestrating Success in a Dynamic World,” the ceremony highlighted the graduates’ achievements and encouraged them to navigate the evolving challenges in the marketing industry.

Notable attendees included Oluyemi Oloyede, managing director and CEO of UAC Foods Limited, who chaired the event, and Oluyomi Moses, Head of Marketing at Lafarge Africa, who served as the special guest of honour.

In his opening speech, the founder and CEO of Simon Page College of Marketing, Dr. Princewill Omorogiuwa reflected on the institution’s 16-year journey, with 14 years in Nigeria and 9 in Kenya.

He emphasised the college’s commitment to equipping graduates with the skills necessary to lead change within their organisations.

“Simon Page College of Marketing has equipped the graduates with the knowledge and skills they need to adapt to change or lead change in their respective organisations. You have learned how to anticipate the market, leverage data for strategic decisions, and create compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences,” Omorogiuwa said.

He encouraged the graduates to carry forward the legacy of Simon Page College of Marketing and orchestrate success in the dynamic world they are entering.

Delivering his address titled “A Pillar of Success Called Optimism,”  the managing director and CEO of UAC Foods Limited, Oluyemi Oloyede emphasised the importance of optimism in keeping organisations competitive despite economic challenges.

He argued that while the Nigerian economy and many organisations are distressed, it is up to managers to instil optimism to help their brands survive and thrive.

“Nothing great has ever been achieved in pessimism. You can never build a fantastic business, a big brand, or a legacy that transcends time without the spirit of optimism. You have to believe it is possible for you to be successful,” Oloyede said.

The head of Marketing at Lafarge Africa, echoed this sentiment, Oluyomi Moses stating that success is not mysterious or coincidental but can be planned, organised, and orchestrated.

She noted that despite the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world we live in, it is still possible to achieve success, as evidenced by individuals who have defied challenges to reach highly coveted outcomes in various fields.

According to Moses, successful people share common traits: vision, resilience, hard work, and the ability to reorient themselves in the face of adversity.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to outstanding students, including Foluke Makinde, who was named Overall Best Student in the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Marketing, and Funmilola Oyewole, who received the award for Overall Best Student in the Diploma in Professional Marketing.
