Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya has flagged-off the reconstruction of five township roads in Kumo, headquarters of Akko local government area of the state.

Speaking at the ceremony, he said the projects aims to improve access and connectivity within the town. The governor explained that the projects include the reconstruction of four existing roads and the creation of a new one namely: Tashan Magarya to Market, Jibilu to Kembu road, Kambariki to Jaurori, Market roundabout to Kembu road, and newly awarded road at anguwan Tera to Tembe.

According to him, the projects are parts of his administration’s broader agenda to upgrade urban infrastructure across the state, infrastructure through the Network 11-100 initiative, particularly in key towns like Kumo.
Inuwa appealed to residents to take ownership of the projects, noting that the roads will be complemented by additional infrastructure such as street lighting, water pipeline, among others.
