Minister for Power, Chief Adebayo Adebayo, has assured consumers of electricity that the ministry was poised to achieve its target of hitting up to 6,000 mega watts of electricity by the end of 2024.

The minister gave the assurance while addressing management and staff of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Ikot Nyong, Odukpani local government area of Cross River State, on Tuesday.

The minister stated that a machinery has been put in place for the realisation of the goal, saying, “More improvement will be witnessed by next year by consumers. We are doing everything humanly possible to enhance the state of transmission.

“While the DisCos are also raising their games, thier own infrastructure, that is the 33kVA lines, all the duty transformers, we are still scratching the surface.

“What you are seeing here today is a tip of the iceberg, we are raising our games to fall in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda to use power to drive every sector of the economy and we must rise up to the challenge,” Adelabu maintained.
