Modibbo Adama Varsity Appoints Prof Ibrahim As New VC

The Governing Council of Modibbo Adama University, Yola at its 17th special meeting held on 14th August 2024, considered the report of the selection board for the appointment of vice chancellor and approved the appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Umar as the 9th substantive vice chancellor of the university.

The appointment was announced by the pro-chancellor and chairman, Governing Council M. A. U Yola, H. E. Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi at the end of the meeting.

Umar, is a Professor of Crop Protection and hails from Gombi local government area of the state.

He will serve a single term of 5 years with effect from the date of his appointment.

A statement from the Information & Protocol officer of the university, Aminu Julde Gurumpawo, said Umar was a rector of Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola.
