NFVCB Seeks Partnership With China To Develop Local Film Industry

National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) seeks to partner with the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria towards the development of the Nigerian film industry.

Executive Director of the board, Husseini Shuaibu, disclosed this at a meeting with the Chinese embassy cultural counsellor and director of China Cultural Center, Nigeria (CCCN), Mr Li Xuda.

The partnership will focus on the promotion of cultural exchanges and film cooperation, in addition to strengthening existing relationship between Nigeria and China.

Tossing ideas of how both agencies can symbiotically support their countries film sector, Shuaibu who said both nations need to understudy each other’s film classification procedures stressed Nigeria’s commitment to the partnership.

“We are committed to strengthening our relationship with China and exploring opportunities for growth and development in the film industry.”

Welcoming the executive director, Mr Xuda said China will assist the board in building the capacity of the Nigerian film industry.
