Olu Of Warri, Okonjo-Iweala, Others To Speak At 64th NBA Conference

As legal luminaries and other members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) converge in the nation’s commercial nerve of Lagos for the 2024 NBA Annual General Conference, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III (CFR), and the Director General of World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, are slated to grace the gathering of legal eggheads.

The revered first-class royal father, Ogiame Atuwatse III, is expected to be on the Traditional Rulers Roundtable session as a speaker on the topic; ‘Proposal for Integrating Traditional with the Contemporary in Justice’.

According to information posted on the NBA website, Dr Okonjo-Iweala is the keynote speaker of the event. Okonjo-Iweala, an economist, served as Nigeria’s first female and longest serving Finance Minister for seven years and was also the first female Foreign Affairs minister in Nigeria.

The 2024 Conference has a theme: “Pressing Forward: A National Posture for Rebuilding Nigeria”, and will hold between August 23 and 28, 2024. It will be attended by other notable personalities, among other stakeholders.

The President of NBA, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), said the conference will expand conversation and interconnectivity of various factors influencing Nigeria’s progress beyond a typical legal conference.
