Anambra State Commissioner of Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba and his wife were on Friday kidnapped while on their way to Abuja for the wedding of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s daughter, Adaora, at the nation’s capital.

Aghamba and his wife were said to be travelling in their private vehicle when they were reportedly ambushed, and kidnapped by gunmen.

Anambra State Governor, Professor Soludo has however activated security actions to free the abducted Commissioner and his wife immediately and unhurt.

When contacted by LEADERSHIP on his mobile phone for his reaction on the incident, Public Relations Officer of Kogi State Police Command, Mr. William Aya simply responded, “Please, I am on transit, I am driving, so I can’t speak”.

However, the Press Secretary (PS) to the Anambra state governor, Mr. Christian Aburime who is already in Abuja for his principal’s daughter’s wedding told LEADERSHIP on phone that the sad news of the kidnap of the Commissioner and his wife had reach the state government.

“Oga (Governor Soludo) has already begun making security contacts to make sure the Commissioner and his wife were rescued unhurt, and, as quickly as possible. We just received the news now”, Aburime said.
