Niger State police command has confirmed that a director and manager of a hotel located in the Gauraka Tafa local government area of the state have been abducted.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Niger State command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed this to LEADERSHIP yesterday.

He said, “Information was received that a suspected kidnapper attacked a hotel located around Angwan power-line, Gauraka area of Tafa and reportedly abducted two persons, and not seven, which were the director and his manager.”

The PPRO said that contrary to the claim that seven people were abducted, follow-up findings by the police indicated that only the director and the manager of the hotel were abducted.

He said, “The police operatives of Gauraka and Sabon-Wuse are currently investigating and trying to rescue the victims”.

He said the commissioner of police of the State Command, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has directed the review of security architecture in the area.
