Maikalangu, while speaking at the exercise yesterday in Abuja, expressed gratitude to the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, for approving distribution of the fertiliser donated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to the council.

The chairman who warned against selling or diverting the fertilizer, said it would encourage agriculture and food security, apart from curbing idleness.

“This official flag-off ceremony of fertilizer distribution to our farmers today is a commitment to encourage food production and food security in AMAC. The 600 NPK and 200 Urea must not be diverted or sold, they must get to the farmers to enable them to improve agricultural productivity.

“This exercise is a way of encouraging our youth to engage in agriculture activities to run away from Idleness. The intervention is to further support economic development in our rural communities where 95 per cent of our population here in AMAC are farmers.
