Hon Mba spoke with LEADERSHIP Weekend in Umuahia, the state capital sequel to the announcement by the governor, Alex Otti of his intention to establish Greater Ohafia Development Agency for the development of Abia North Zone.

“Opportunities are available in agriculture, health services, extractive and mining activities, transportation, hospitality, education, banking, housing, ICT and engineering services, among others,” he said.

The lawmaker noted that good efforts were being made by both the government and other stakeholders to restore power in the constituency which he said would be another advantage after a very long period.

Mba, who is the House committee chairman on Environment and Urban Renewal, further said, “labour of all professions and cadres will not constitute an impediment to their investment just as the same will apply to land.

“Let me assure the investors, whether local or foreign, that the communities will be ever willing to provide them enough land for such purposes as well as maximum support and cooperation,” he said.

According to him, he saw such an opportunity some years ago when he established the largest printing press in the zone in Ohafia, which is the headquarters of Abia North senatorial district.

“The investment has since paid off. And not only that, I have used the press to contribute my own quota to the development of the constituency and to create job opportunities for many youths.”

He commended the governor for the proposed agency and other steps he had initiated to develop the constituency in particular and the state in general since his assumption of office.
