Moro Descendants Development Union (MODDU) yesterday called for the split of Moro local government area of Kwara State in to three distinct local government areas.

The union also announced plans to hold its maiden summit on August 31, 2024 to address issues concerning the development of the area and its people.

An elder of MODDU and Second Republic majority leader in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Chief Wole Oke, while speaking at a press conference in Ilorin called for the split of Moro local government area to three local government areas.

Oke explained that while Moro isn’t pushing for statehood at this time, the primary focus is on achieving full autonomy for the local government.
