Oluwaseun Babalola, widely renowned by his moniker ‘Director Peacock’, was born in Mushin, Lagos State, Nigeria, and spent his formative years in Ikorodu area of the State.

He received his foundational education at Summerland Primary School in Mushin and Sky Light College, in Ikorodu, all in Lagos State.

His artistic journey continued at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ogun State, where he graduated from the Creative Arts Department, equipping him with a robust understanding of various artistic disciplines.

Career:

Director Peacock’s professional odyssey began in 2016, when he embarked on a series of photography projects in Ikorodu. These initial endeavours allowed him to experiment with visual narratives and refine his artistic vision.

In 2017, he transitioned into graphic design, where his innovative designs and meticulous attention to detail earned him recognition and expanded his influence in the creative industry.

The turning point in Director Peacock’s career came in 2019. It was during this period that he discovered his true passion for music video direction.

The revelation occurred when he directed a music video for a friend’s project using only a mobile phone. Despite the limited resources, this project showcased his remarkable ability to craft compelling visual stories, marking the beginning of a transformative journey in the music industry.

In the years that followed, Director Peacock rapidly ascended to prominence as a visionary music video director.

His work is distinguished by its groundbreaking use of cinematography, special effects, and dynamic storytelling techniques.

Director Peacock has had the privilege of collaborating with some of Africa’s most celebrated artists, including Omah Lay, Joeboy, Khaid, ID Cabassa, DJ Neptune, Vector, Kaestyle, Brume, Oxlade and Jeriq.
