REDAN Appoints 24 Committees To Address Nigeria’s Housing Need

In line with its mission of supporting the federal government’s efforts in addressing the housing needs of Nigerians, the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), has appointed 24 committees, comprising over 100 dedicated members of the Association.

The president/chairman of REDAN, Prince Akintoye Adeoye who announced this at a press conference in Abuja also revealed that these committees will assist the REDAN 7th Council in realising its vision, which focuses on the following key areas, advocacy, transparency, Innovation as well as professionalism and sustainability.

REDAN, which is a leading organisation dedicated to the advancement of housing and real estate development in the country, also serves as a unified platform for developers to advocate for favourable policies, establish industry standards, and foster collaboration among key stakeholders.

Adeoye who commended the minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, for the notable progress in increasing the availability of affordable and decent housing for Nigerians, as demonstrated by the groundbreaking of 6,612 housing units across 13 locations nationwide under the Ministry’s Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme also revealed the Ministry’s Urban Renewal and Slum Upgrade Programme is aligning perfectly with REDAN’s advocacy for inclusive development.

He described the minister’s decision to partner with Shelter Afrique Development Bank in order to provide 5,000 affordable housing units in the pilot phase, as commendable and lauded Dangiwa’s initiatives in Housing Institutions Reforms as well as plans for a National Housing Data Center.
