Govs, Monarchs, Others Storm Oyo For Alhaja Adebayo’s 90th Birthday

Prominent Nigerians including Lagos and Delta State governors, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, traditional rulers and politicians on Saturday converged on Ibadan, Oyo State capital to celebrate the life and times of Alhaja Rafatu Anike Ibiladun Adebayo, mother of a popular journalist, Olusola Adebayo, who marked 90 years birthday in a grand style.

The ceremony venue, Hall of Grace, Jogor, and the entire Liberty Stadium Road hosted dignitaries from all walks of life, including Warri in Delta State, Lagos, and Oyo State.

Suffice it to say both government and traditional activities were moved to Oyo State to honour the celebrant.

Though the Delta State Governor was represented, key government officials such as Commissioners, special assistants and other aides were present.

Also, virtually all the lawmakers, including members of the National Assembly, were present, dressed in their traditional attire to mark the celebration.

Traditional rulers from the Yoruba-speaking states were not left out. Though Arole Yoruba was represented, several other traditional rulers were presented.

The occasion was chaired by Baale of Alegongo, Ibadan, Chief Kunle Sanda. Oba Abdulwahab Oyedokun Orangun of Ile-Ila, Oba Lukmon Ojo; Owa of Igbajo, Oba Bisriyu Adeniji Owolaja, Oni Kajola. Traditional rulers and chiefs from Warri, Delta State, also attended.
