The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has called on the federal and state governments to curtail the high quest for money, voodoo and ritual Killings in Nigeria, most especially amongst the youth.

Oba Akanbi condemned prevalent dishonourable quests for money resulting in killings of innocent souls and called on traditional rulers to wage an aggressive war against the act.

Oluwo said the heinous practice has a spiritual tune to the hardships pervading the land. He called on the three arms of the government to enact capital punishment for anyone found with human parts.
He suggested the formation of a particular government agency to checkmate wicked rituals, taking human parts as a sacrifice.

Oluwo’s press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, released a statement, “The Government constituted both EFCC and ICPC to check corruption in official settings. A similar institution should also be constituted to checkmate and address corruption in the traditional system such as money rituals and cultism.”

“The alarming rate of killing innocent souls for money rituals calls for immediate curb. I read it daily on the pages of newspapers and social media. That is for those that got reported. The pandemic has to be fought with capital punishment. Anyone found with human parts should be sent to the gallow. Such a strict penalty will reset the mindset of the wicked ones.”

He noted secret societies promoted by some traditional rulers and elders proliferated cultism amongst the youth indulging in ritual Killings. He tasked the government to checkmate the activities of secret cults presumed to be the Genesis of ritualism.

He described ritual Killings as the clog in the wheel of progress of Yorubaland, saying his throne is committed to checkmate archaic practices in Yorubaland.

“As a father to the nation, I’ve committed my throne to eradicate barbaric practices in Yorubaland, most especially ritual Killings. That is one of the reasons I refused to belong to any secret society despite humongous inducements.”

“I beseech the federal government to enact capital punishment for anyone culpable of ritual Killings. They should extend their interest to the activities of secret societies, which are the root causes of such heinous acts.”

“I am urging Islamic scholars and students to start asking questions about barbaric practices in the land. Most old systems are not working again, except we want to get the same results. We need a more productive approach devoid of cultural infractions to get us on the right track. Ask questions to know the truth”

“The youth should wake up. Your financial freedom depends on an honourable source of survival. There is no shortcut to success without repercussions. If you need to enjoy it far, let it be legitimate.”
