Speaking ahead of the training, chairman of Lagos State Football Association Hajji Gafar Liameed, expressed excitement at the overwhelming responses from coaches and their eagerness to participate in the special training course for certification of coaches at the grassroot in Lagos.

“We  received  more than 220 registrations and are still counting.  But in order to maintain standard and achieve our aim of quality service delivery,  our partners, the National Institute of Sports, decided that we should have the training in 100 batches per stream.

“So on Saturday, September 14, 2024 we are beginning with the first 100 coaches  that registered. The next stream of 100 will come up a week after while the third stream will be completed in early December. So according to our plans and agreement, we are going to train 300 coaches this year,” Gafer said.

He assured all those that registered for the training that they will get the best quality training from the vast experience of the carefully selected resource persons.

NIS DG Professor Olawale Moronkola;  former Flying Eagles coach, Fatai Amoo;  veteran coach, James Adesina; former Nigerian International Peter Nieketen and Jeremiah Kuhwa are the resource persons who will be conducting the training.
