The committee, comprising 16 members from the federal government and Trade Union sides, is chaired by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

Its terms of reference include negotiating and agreeing on consequential adjustments in salaries and developing a template for the implementation of the approved minimum wage.

The Head of Civil Service said that the inauguration of the committee is a step towards implementing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at lifting Nigerians out of poverty and creating an enabling environment for prosperity.

“It is crucial for us to recognise the significance of this assignment, and with a focus on maintaining industrial peace and harmony, I am confident that we will execute it in the best interests of the public service and the nation as a whole,” she said.

The committee’s members include representatives from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, and Trade Unions.

With the inauguration of the committee, the federal government has demonstrated its commitment to enhancing the economic well-being of Nigerian workers and improving productivity in the public service.
