Apart from the rejection from the community, the younger brother of HRM Ndamzi Nsirim, Andrew Nsirim has alleged that the newly recognised Nye Nwe Eli Rumuene, is not the biological son of his father/ the late traditional ruler of the kingdom.

Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt yesterday, Nsirim said his late father told him that the newly recognised traditional ruler was not his biological son.

He vowed to go to court to prove the paternity of the new monarch because he had pleaded with Ndamzi for them to carry out a DNA test which he has refused.

He stated that what the state government did was to bring shame to his father’s lineage, stressing that Rumueme Kingdom had chosen Timothy Nsirim as their king and that the kingdom would go ahead with it.

Also speaking with journalists, the head of Owhonda family in Rumueme, Chief Asor Owhonda, accused the state government of causing crisis in the kingdom.

Owhonda stated that traditionally, the Rumukpakani selects their king and presents to the entire Rumueme Kingdom, adding that the community selected Prince Timothy Nsirim as their traditional ruler.

He said the community was waiting for the second burial of the late traditional ruler and the burial of the oldest man in the kingdom before the coronation of Timothy Nsirim.
