The Muslim Association of Nigeria (MAN) has urged the government to prioritise the rising cost of living. It said the country’s high cost of living and insecurity demands urgent attention.
Speaking against the backdrop of the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammed (SAW), the President and National Publicity Secretary of the association, Professor Dhikru Yagboyaju and Hon. Mudirakat Ajibona, said the government must address insecurity and the rising cost of living.
The group, which also felicitated with the Muslim Ummah of Nigeria, prayed for peace, harmony, and progress for Nigeria and its citizens in general.
According to them, the rising cost of living has worsened the living conditions of ordinary citizens in particular.
The association also called for caution in conducting the 2024 governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States, imploring INEC and other agencies connected to the exercise to ensure a level playing field to maintain the electorate’s confidence.
