No Amount Of Intimidation, Blackmail Will Distract My Principal –Alia’s Aide

Accusations and counter-accusations have continued to worsen the relationship between the Benue State government and members of the National Assembly from the state.

This is even as the chief press secretary to the governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, during a briefing in Makurdi, warned members of the National Assembly who are out to tarnish the image of Governor Hyacinth Alia to steer clear, saying, “No amount of intimidation, blackmail and insults rendered on his principal will distract him from delivering his campaign promises to the people of the state who overwhelmingly voted for him.”

Sir Kula also debunked what he described as an outburst by the House of Representatives member representing the Okpokwu/Ado/Ogbadibo federal constituency.

Dan Agbese, who he said had accused Governor Alia of snubbing a peace meeting at the instance of President Bola Tinubu.

We wonder why Agbese, who is supposed to give quality legislation and dividends of democracy to his people, suddenly becomes the president’s spokesperson for a meeting that existed only in the figment of his imagination.

According to the chief press secretary, although they always insult him, he would pay their retired parents what is due for them and their brothers and sisters’ salaries as and when they are due.

The CPS recalled a situation where Agbese removed the portrait of the governor’s picture in his office a few months back, explaining that he was not fit to be his governor. “We did not say anything because we thought that, as a young man, he might be under the influence of any substance. When he comes to his senses, he will apologise for what he did because putting the governor’s portrait in his office does not add or remove anything for the governor. It is just a sign of patriotism”.

“But going on and on, we are beginning to be concerned because when a citizen begins to behave abnormally, there is a call for concern. However, if this behaviour is normal, Agbese needs to be called to order,” he said.

He added, “We want to also draw the attention of the secretary to the government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, who has consistently said he has no issue with the Governor noting that he is being represented in the realm of the insults against the Governor by those who claim they are his boys.

“It baffles me when a House of Representatives member who is responsible for delivering dividends of democracy to his people and should ordinarily serve as a role model to upcoming generations will be jobless and as well descend so low to render insults to a duly elected governor who is not in any competition with him.
