A former aide to the late governor of Lagos State, Lateef Kayode Jakande, Comrade Salihu Dantata Mahmud has been awarded the FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) Sports Dedication and Support Award, alongside others.

The award was presented by the sports unit under Andrew Agbasi.

Presenting the award, the director in charge of DRTS, Dr. Abdul Lateef Bello, commended Mahmud for his significant external support to the directorate, which has helped strengthen ties between the department and the media.

He urged Mahmud to continue, beyond his support for sports, to help promote the newly introduced three-day operational schedule for DRTS officers on Abuja roads, limiting their workdays to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Salihu, a former personal assistant on northern matters, acting bureau chief of Daily News, former publicity secretary, national secretary, and former zonal manager (North) of Good Homes Estates Limited (all owned by the late Jakande), expressed his appreciation to the DRTS director and head of sports.
