President Bola Tinubu has written to the House of Representatives, seeking approval for an additional supplementary statutory budget for the Federal Capital Territory Administration(FCTA).

Tinubu’s request, conveyed in a letter read at the resumed plenary yesterday by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, did not specify the amount of the proposed supplementary budget.

LEADERSHIP reports that the House passed the N98.5 billion supplementary budget (Appropriation Bill) for FCTA on June 6.

The president said the supplementary budget proposal had been prepared based on the FCTA’s reviewed revenue and expenditure forecasts and is aligned with the fiscal and developmental policies of the federal government and the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.

“I write under Section 121 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to forward an additional Supplementary Budget Proposal for the FCTA for consideration and passage by the House of Representatives.

“This Supplementary Budget Proposal has been prepared based on the FCTA’S reviewed revenue and expenditure forecasts and is aligned with the fiscal and developmental policies of the Federal Government and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“With it, the FCTA continues to prioritise the improvement of human capital and infrastructure within the Federal Capital Territory.
