No fewer than 300 environmental law offenders were arrested on Saturday during the monthly sanitation exercise in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The state commissioner for Environment, Hajiya Nafisat Musa-Buge, disclosed this in a statement yesterday.

“It was sad and unfortunate that almost three hundred sanitation offenders were apprehended within the metropolis and subsequently charged to various mobile courts during the exercise,” Musa-Buge said.
She, however, commended state residents for their compliance, which she noted ensured successful exercise.

“Let me use this medium to express our delight with an increase in the level of compliance by the good people of Kwara State towards the successful sanitation exercise, most especially, the metropolis. I urge you all to sustain the tempo,” she stated.

The commissioner appreciated the mobile court judges, monitoring and security agents, transport unions, and relevant bodies for their steadfastness in discharging their duties.
