As part of his commitment to transforming traditional institutions in Bauchi State, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has approved the total renovation and upgrade of the palaces of 11 village heads in the Dass local government area of the state.
This is in addition to the ongoing renovation of the palace of the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Biyaminu Othman.
The renovation and rehabilitation of the palaces of the first-class Emirs in the state and those of district and village heads across the state were in continuous efforts by the Governor Mohammed-led administration to provide a conducive working environment and places of abode for traditional rulers in the state.
The chairman of Dass local government, Comrade Mohammed Abubakar Jibo disclosed this while receiving an assessment visit from a team of engineers to the 11 village head palaces in Dass LGA ahead of their renovation and upgrade.
Comrade Jibo commended Governor Mohammed for his efforts in providing traditional rulers in the state with a conducive atmosphere in which to operate and contribute meaningfully to the peace and development of Bauchi State.
While expressing joy over the governor’s decision to extend his kind gesture to traditional rulers in Dass LGA, the chairman said Governor Mohammed did not hesitate to promptly approve the council’s request to renovate 11 village head palaces in the area.
The chairman said this was part of the ongoing renovation and remodelling of the palace of the Emir of Dass, which the governor recently awarded a contract for.
According to Comrade Jibo, the palaces of Bununu Dass, Wandi, Baraza, Durr, and Lukshi village heads were to be given a facelift in his local government area.
The chairman informed that others who would benefit from the renovation were the village heads of Zumbul, Polchi, Dott, Bondot, Bajar, and Bagel.
“We sincerely appreciate Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s extending the renovation of the palaces of traditional rulers in the state to Dass Local Government Area.
“This confirms Governor Mohammed’s high esteem for royal fathers across the state. The governor is fully aware of the roles of our traditional rulers as custodians of their people’s customs and traditions and promoters of peace.
“We say a very big thank you to our dear governor for this gesture,” Comrade Jibo said.
The chairman later took the engineers around the 11 benefitting palaces in his area.
On their part, all the village heads applauded Governor Mohammed’s transformation agenda and wished him Allah’s guidance as he effectively pilots the affairs of Bauchi State.
