The group urged other public officers to emulate him.

It also acknowledged the manner the former Nigerian academic and diplomat had handled the affairs of the office without any controversy traced to him.

It stated, “What Nigerians demand from political leaders is good governance and political will to implement campaign promises for the growth and the development of the country.”

The group, which disclosed this in a statement jointly signed by its chairman, Muhammad Bala Zaria and secretary, Mallam Mustapha Faisal, said it resolved to single out the chief of staff, as a former member of the community, who had not only proved to be a worthy ambassador, but had adequately represented the Samaru community well.
