Niger State police command has arrested leading suspect and informant of bandits’ who abducted four people and killed two of them after collecting N13 million ransom in Tegina, Rafi local government area

Last year, suspected armed bandits invaded Tegina town, Rafi shooting sporadically and abducted the 4 people into Kagara forest which included one Aminu Garba a business man

The police public relations officer Wasiu Abiodun said upon the receipt of the information, the Command mobilized and drafted a combined team of tactical squad comprised Anti-kidnapping Unit, FIB tactical squad and vigilante members to the area.

He said as a result of the sustained operating pressure on the hoodlums, two victims later escaped from the abductors, while the remaining two others were still in captivity including the said Aminu Garba.

“Unfortunately, the remaining two victims, that is Aminu Garba and one other were killed by the kidnappers after collecting a ransom of N13 million, however, on 29/08/2022, based on technical intelligence, one Nasiru Musa aged 30yrs ‘m’ of Tegina was arrested within Tegina town in connection with the crime” he narrated.

Abiodun said during interrogation, the suspect confessed to have conspired with one Lelwi presently at large who connected him with one Gwaskan-Daji also at large and several others to kidnap the victims and collect the ransom.

He claimed that he got only N200,000 from the crime proceeds and he was also planning to kidnap the chairman of Rafi LGA before his arrest. A case under investigation.
