Ambassador Kingsley Amafibe has stressed the importance of extra effort in fostering peaceful co-existence in Nigeria, as the country is marked by its multi-ethnic and multi-religious makeup.
Amafibe, who is a peace advocate, emphasised that national unity requires deliberate actions to bridge divides, reduce inter-tribal rivalry, and promote religious tolerance.
Alex Nwankwo, his media consultant, in a statement noted that Amafibe with over 15 years of experience in peace advocacy and consulting has remained a key figure in campaigns for national integration and social harmony.
According to him he had collaborated with state governments to promote development and education as tools to combat instability.
He noted that with his African Peace Scholarship Project, Amafibe currently in partnership with the Kaduna State government, aims to boost school enrollment and promote social stability.
To drive change with his Peace Ambassador Agency and Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation, Nwankwo stated that his principal has spearheaded several initiatives, including the upcoming 14th Peace Achievers International Conference, which will gather stakeholders from various sectors to discuss ways of fostering unity and reducing the tensions that fuel division and separatism.
This conference, themed “Building Bridges for Sustainable Peace and Security,” reflects Amafibe’s commitment to long-term peace solutions.
