The governor shared the news during an interview on Channels TV titled “One-On-One with Babajide Sanwo-Olu,” yesterday.

“I’m pleased to announce that after discussions with our union, the minimum wage for Lagos has been set at N85,000,” he stated.

Sanwo-Olu emphasised that this decision isn’t about competition with other regions but rather a reflection of the state’s financial capacity. “It’s a function of affordability and capacity,” he explained.

He expressed hope to return in January 2025 with news of an increase to N100,000. “Earlier this year, we raised salaries, and it is important to continue this trend. I aim to announce an increase in the minimum wage to N100,000. This isn’t about outdoing anyone else; it’s about ensuring my people receive a living wage,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He reassured citizens that his administration was dedicated to serving them, stating, “I want everyone to know that their government is working for them.”
