Gov Sani Appoints Ibraheem Musa As New CPS, Makes Other Appointments

Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, has appointed Ibraheem Musa as his new Chief Press Secretary (CPS).

Governor Sani said the new appointment, including others, was to reinvigorate his administration for effective and efficient service delivery to citizens.

A statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Fabian Ugochukwu Okoye, said until his appointment as CPS, Malam Musa was a Media Consultant to the governor.

Okoye explained further that Musa served as a Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity in the previous administration in the State.

The statement said, “Malam Ibraheem Musa has over 30 years of post graduation experience in various news organisations, culminating in his appointment as the pioneer Editor of Blueprint Weekend Newspaper in 2017.

“The new Chief Press Secretary started his working career as a Press Review Officer in Government House, Bauchi in 1991. Thereafter, he joined Hotline News Magazine in 1993 and rose to the position of Deputy Editor. He had a short stint with The Sentinel Magazine, before joining the New Nigerian Newspapers, where he spent 10 years. At the New Nigerian, he was the Political Editor and a member of the Editorial Board.

“While on a Leave of Absence, Malam Ibr@heem Musa served in the National Assembly as a Legislative Aide. In 2007, the new Chief Press Secretary was appointed the Political Editor of Trust Newspaper. After a year, he became the Kaduna Bureau Chief of the Newspaper. In 2011, he left for the Blueprint Newspaper as Kaduna Bureau Chief. In 2017, he was appointed the Editor of Blueprint Weekend.”

The statement added, “Malam Ibraheem was the Deputy Director of Strategic Communication of the Kaduna State APC Campaign Team in 2019. In the 2023 campaign, he was the Director of Strategic Communication and Spokesman of the APC Campaign Team.”

The governor also named Dr. John Danfulani as Executive Secretary of Kaduna State Residents Identity Management Agency (KADRIMA).

The statement said Mohammed Mubarak was appointed Acting Executive Secretary, Kaduna State State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

The statement added, “Aliyu Saeed – Executive Director (Finance and Administration), Kaduna Mining Development Company (KDMC), Muhammad Salisu – Executive Director (Operations), Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company (KMDMC). Hon. Shehu Usman Ibrahim – Special Assistant, Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.

“Falmata U. Abacha – Senior Special Assistant – Social Investment. Abdulhadi Abdullahi Makarfi – Executive Director, (Operations) Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA).Iyal Auwal Yahaya – Executive Director (Finance and Administration), Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA).Bashir Tijjani Babajo – Special Assistant, Special Duties. Ruth Popoola – Senior Special Assistant on Financial Inclusion.”

While congratulating the new appointees, Governor Sani charged them to deploy their skills and competencies to help accelerate the pace of development in Kaduna State and deliver on the Governance Agenda of Governor Sani’s administration.
