Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has promised to facilitate the quick passage of the disability bill pending before the House of Assembly for accent and domestication.
Governor Alia who gave the assurance through the Secretary to the State Government, Selumun Aber, during a courtesy visit by IFA in Makurdi, said he was passionate about the needs of persons with disability as could be seen by his appointment of their leader in the state, Bem Anshe, as his personal assistant.
“This administration is intentional in ensuring that people with disability have a voice in Benue State, as seen in the appointment of a special assistant on disability and a sign language interpreter to see that all are carried along in the scheme of things,” he said.
The SSG who commended IFA for consistent advocacy, noted that something good would soon come out of their visits because the Alia- led administration would not disappoint them.
