Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed confidence that by the conclusion of President Bola Tinubu’s first term, Nigerians would be singing his praises.

He spoke during the inauguration of a new road project from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3, also known as the N5 arterial Road in Abuja, the fifth road project launched in the past week.

He highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to address the country’s economic and infrastructure issues, expressing optimism that the president’s strategic initiatives would soon yield significant benefits, including reducing hunger.

Wike encouraged Nigerians to continue praying for the nation and its leaders, assuring citizens that steps had been taken to ensure widespread benefits from the ongoing Renewed Hope Initiatives.
He noted that the recent series of road projects had already generated direct and indirect employment for hundreds of residents in the FCT.

The minister urged Julius Berger Construction Company to expedite action on the project’s completion from the original 18 months to 14 months, promising potential additional contracts for early completion.
He said the FCTA has made 70 per cent, upfront payment to Julius Berger for the awarded projects. He expressed confidence in the company’s ability to deliver high-quality work.

“I assure you, by the end of President Tinubu’s administration, Nigerians will find reasons to smile. These issues, such as hunger and suffering, have persisted for years, through various administrations,” Wike said.
Senate president Godswill Akpabio, represented by the chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT, Ibrahim Bomai, praised the FCTA’s efforts in road construction, emphasising that efficient road networks were vital for promoting socio-economic activities.
