The Police operatives attached to Toto Division in collaboration with youths, had stormed Achido village, a deeply forested terrain bordering Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Kogi State on Monday, November 4, and rescued the victims.

A statement by the command’s public relations officer (PPRO), DSP Ramhan Nansel, on Tuesday, said the raid followed a tip-off about strange movements around the area.

According to the Police spokesman, the rescued kidnap victims were residents of Kuje and Rubochi areas of Abuja, while others were from Lapai local government area of Niger State.

The victims included Adamu Abdullahi, Musa Ahmed and Auwal Adamu of Kuje, FCT Abuja. Others were Hussaini Yakubu, Haruna Usman, Jibrin Bature, Isyaka Yakubu, Sule Bello and Yusuf Yusuf, all males of Lapai, Niger State.

Also rescued were Yusuf Tashai, Kabiru Iliya both of Rubochi area of FCT, and Sabo Yakubu, Sagir Iliya, and Yunusa Danladi of Tanshi village, Kuje Area council, FCT-Abuja.

He said the five suspects arrested were responsible for supplying food and other essentials to kidnappers in the forest.
