Buhari arrived the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport at exactly 10:46am on Tuesday morning to a jubilant crowd comprising government officials, spectators, and dancers.

The President was received by Governor Uzodimma.

After the pleasantries, he immediately inspected a guard of honour mounted by the detachment of military personnel and thereafter boarded a chopper to Orlu now to inaugurate the Owerri-Orlu Road accompanied by Governor Uzodimma

However, the ever-busy Owerri roads were deserted as residents chose to obey the sit-at-home directive issued by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
