The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in Abuja, led by Justice Danladi Umar, has adjourned the Federal Government’s case against Acting Commissioner for Internal Security Peter Samuel and two others to February 5, 2025, for arraignment over alleged false assets declaration.

The adjournment is due to health concerns affecting Aruwan and suspended Finance Commissioner Shizzer Bada, who could not attend.

On October 22, the CCT asked to suspend the three senior officials in Kaduna State, citing discrepancies in their asset filings.

Alongside Aruwan, Shizzer Bada and Tijjani Abdullahi, Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, were asked to be suspended.

They must step aside until charges filed by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) against them are determined.

The officials are set to appear in tribunal proceedings beginning November 7, reinforcing a commitment to public accountability.

The ex parte suspension order, granted on the CCB‘s request, requires interim replacements for the officials.

The CCB claims violations of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, which mandates accurate asset disclosures from public officers.

“This decision, issued on October 22, 2024, reflects the tribunal’s dedication to transparency and accountability as outlined in the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, CAP C1 LFN 2004,” said Veronica Kato, CCB spokesperson.
