As part of the 18th anniversary of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammad Sa’ad Abubakar III on the throne, 15 eminent Nigerians are to be conferred with traditional titles by the Sultanate Council in Sokoto.

Among them are Governor Bala Muhammad of Bauchi as Kauran Daular Usmaniyya; Governor Muhammad Yahaya Inuwa of Gombe as Dan Amana Daular Usmaniyya; Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, former governor of Zamfara as Marafa Sokoto; Sheikh Isah Ali Pantami, former minister of digital economy as Majidadin Daular Usmaniyya and Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar/CEO of JAMB as Kuliyan Sokoto.

Others are, Professor Mansur Ibrahim (Dan Masanin Sokoto), Alhaji Umar S. Abubakar III (Sarkin Arewan Sokoto), Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Gusau (Sarkin Malami Sokoto), Alhaji Ya’u Aliyu Dogondaji (Dikkon Sokoto) and Alhaji Haliru S. Abubakar III (Janjunan Sokoto).

The rest are Abubakar Siddique (Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida), Ahmed Rufai Dange(Sarkin Tsabta), Jeli Bello(Sarkin Puloti), Abubakar Hussaini Baza(Sarkin Bai), Abdullahi Dan Azumi(Narayan Sarkin Musulumi).

According to a press statement signed by Sa’idu Muhammadu Maccido, Secretary, Sultanate Council, the date for the turbaning will soon be fixed.
