We’ve Spent Over N7.9bn On Basic, Secondary Education In Yobe – Commissioner

The Yobe State commissioner, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Abba Idriss Adam said the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni has over N7.9 billion in the provision of infrastructure, teaching and learning materials as well as payment of various registration fees in 2024.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alh. Bukar Aji Bukar stated that the state government had during the year under review prioritised the provision of equipment that will facilitate sound and robust education in the state.

He said, “The money amount to over 7.9billion naira in the sector were spent on school constructions and renovations, school feedings, examination fees (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB) transportation for exchange students, procurement of instructional materials as well as UBEC counterpart funds. “This is to tell you that we have adequate allocation for basic and secondary education,” he added.
