Federal Ministry of Health has said 422 passengers who were either coming in or leaving the country were found with fake COVID-19 vaccination cards at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, between July and August, 2022.

The ministry’s director of port health services, Dr Geoffrey Okatubo, stated this yesterday at a press briefing in Abuja.

He said they had 176 of such cases in July and 246 in August, totalling 422, adding that the culprits have been handed over to security agencies.

Okatubo however, said that as at last weekend, the National Port Health Services had screened over 24,000 passengers and that the services data showed that 96 percent of passengers coming into the country were fully vaccinated.
