Former Gombe State governor, Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo has thrown his weight behind Gombe State All Stars FC by providing kits and financial support to the team as they prepare for the forthcoming National Veteran Football Competition slated for Abuja.
The kits which were presented to the club by Malam Farouk Yarma, former commissioner of youth empowerment, Gombe state, on behalf of Senator Dankwambo, includes a customised set of jerseys, FIFA approved football and a cash of N250, 000.
While presenting the kits to the club, Yarma underscored the importance of representing Gombe State with pride and dedication.
“Your hard work and commitment will showcase the talent of our state. The Senator asked me to encourage you to play with passion and teamwork,” Yarma said, “inspiring the players to deliver their best performance on the national stage.”
Dankwambo, through Yarma, also called on individuals and corporate organisations to invest in local sports and youth development, emphasizing the profound impact such initiatives can have on the community. “Together, we can create opportunities for our youth and help them achieve their dreams through football. Investment in sports is an investment in the future of our community,” he remarked.
Responding, the team manager, Alhaji Salisu Umar, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of Gombe State All Stars FC and assured the team commitment to give their utmost effort and make Gombe state proud at the upcoming competitions.
