The local government chairman of the area, Alhaji Usman Nalado Matawalle disclosed this to journalists, saying the storm destroyed over 4,000 houses.

He explained that the council has already set up a committee to assess the level of destruction which would be forwarded to the state government for consideration, adding that the local government on its own has made adequate arrangements to avert further flooding.

The chairman called on the people to bear with the situation as the government is not relenting in its effort to cushion the hardship being faced by them.
