The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, and other prominent Nigerians have been billed to attend the 16th Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR) annual Leadership and Mentoring Conference in Lagos.

This much was revealed at a press conference to herald the Leadership and Mentoring conference to be held on December 6th, even as the chief executive officer of MainOne Cable will be honoured with the Distinguished WISCAR Award.

Speaking at the conference, Founder and Chairperson of WISCAR, Amina Oyagbola,  highlighted the conference’s significance, saying it would revolve around, “Driving gender equality and economic inclusion is essential because true innovation, sustainable development, and national prosperity can only be achieved when women are included at all levels of leadership. Women make up half of our population, and excluding them limits progress. Our conference aims to equip women with the skills and networks to lead and foster inclusive governance.”

Oyagbola added that other speakers who will add value to the annual conference include Dr Fatima Akilu, Executive Director of Neem Foundation; Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senator representing Kogi Central; and Oreoluwa Lesi, Founder of WTEC.

Prominent leaders will deliver goodwill messages, including Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Art, Culture, and Tourism; Senator Abubakar Bagudu, Minister of Budget and economic planning; and Ms. Beatrice Eyong, UN Women’s Country Representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS.
