Gov Mutfwang Celebrates TY Danjuma At 87

Plateau State governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has joined other well-meaning Nigerians and reputable leaders from across the globe in celebrating the former Chief of Army Staff and one-time Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General T.Y. Danjuma (Rtd) on the occasion of his 87th birthday anniversary.

Mutfwang, in a congratulatory message, signed by the director of press and public affairs in the Governor’s Office, Mr. Gyang Bere, on Sunday night, applauded General Danjuma’s extraordinary leadership, which has played a crucial role in promoting peace, unity, and national cohesion in Nigeria.

The governor acknowledged with delight, the distinguished statesman’s illustrious career in the Nigerian Army, where he rose to the pinnacle as Chief of Army Staff (COAS), as well as his remarkable success in building globally recognised business ventures and the impactful philanthropic interventions of the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation.

He remarked: “On behalf of the government and people of Plateau State, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to a revered father, elder statesman, and beacon of hope, General T.Y. Danjuma (Rtd) on the joyous occasion of his 86th birthday.”

The statement further stressed that, “You are more than a celebrated leader; you are a towering figure whose life of service, humility, and compassion continues to inspire generations. Your unwavering dedication to a united and peaceful Nigeria, coupled with your far-reaching philanthropic efforts through the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation, has brought hope and succor to countless vulnerable Nigerians.”

“Your exemplary leadership, characterized by wisdom, humility, and unwavering integrity, has earned you admiration and respect both within and outside our shores.”

Reflecting on General Danjuma’s tenure as Chief of Army Staff during some of Nigeria’s most challenging periods, Governor Mutfwang praised his wisdom and diplomatic acumen in addressing national crises, bringing relief and stability to the nation.

The statement added that as the elder statesman celebrates the milestone, the governor wished him boundless joy and cherished moments with family, friends, and admirers.

“May this special day bring you renewed strength, good health, and divine wisdom as you continue to guide younger generations with your invaluable counsel for the betterment of our beloved nation,” Governor Mutfwang prayed.
