The N50 million empowerment scheme organised by Nasiru Bala Aminu, a current member of the Governing Council, Federal College Of Education (Technical), Potiskum, Yobe State, took place over the weekend in Kano.

The minister of youth development, Ayodele Olawande, the minister of women affairs, Imaan Sulaiman, and the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas, were also present at the event.

The renowned politician and philanthropist explained that he was making efforts to give his helping hand to President Bola Tinubu in his effort to make life better for the people and called on the well-to-do to support the weak in the society.

“I am proud to say that this programme is also in support of our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration’s thrust of empowering youth and women.

“His commitment to improving the principle of the welfare state is truly commendable, and I applaud him for his effort,” he stated.

“As we empower our youth and women, we are not only changing their lives but also shaping the future of our nation,” he noted.

He added, “We are building a brighter future, a future where our youth and women are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to succeed.”

The philanthropist, popularly called Ja’oji in Kano, was hailed by the ministers and political leaders present at the event for not only this empowerment but also earlier empowerment programmes, where four people received N1 million each, 200 people received N100,000 each, and 100 received N50,000 each.

The minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, commended Ja’oji for supporting youth and women in Kano, which he said is evidence of promoting youth inclusion in the nation’s economy.

“I commend Honourable Ja’oji for his tireless efforts in supporting youth development. His initiatives, such as this empowerment programme, demonstrate his commitment to promoting youth inclusion in the nation’s economy.

“This is in line with the policy thrust of President Tinubu’s administration, which encourages and supports initiatives that empower young people,” he said.

On her side, the minister of Women’s Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman, reminded that the empowerment initiative is a reminder that there is still much work to be done to promote women’s empowerment in the country.

“As we celebrate the empowerment of 1000 youth and women today, we are reminded that much work still needs to be done. However, with the leadership and vision of President Tinubu, we are confident that Nigeria will continue to make strides in promoting women’s empowerment and development,” she stated.

She further called on other political party leaders across the country, especially those with political appointments, to emulate Ja’oji’s example and promote initiatives supporting women’s empowerment and inclusion.
