The United Pastors Initiative for Good Governance has faulted the composition of security chiefs and called on the government to accommodate all religious faiths in the country.
The Christian leaders who made the observation during a press conference in Abuja however commended the President Muhamamadu Buhari led administration for continuing with projects initiated by his predecessor.
The president, United Pastors Initiative for Good Governance Rev. James Muya, commended the president for leading the war against insecurity that has liberated North East communities.
“In the fight against insecurity, before President Buhari took over office in 2015, many of us in the North East had no homes and with no sign of hope of going back to our villages, but he made our return possible in fulfillment of his promise to us, Mr. President we say thank you for everything” he said.
He said though past government tried to establish local government autonomy, non came close to realizing it due to opposing forces “but today our game changer uhammadu Buhari, through his relentless effort made it a reality for Nigeria to make the bill to be passed”.
“The bill altered the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to abrogate the state joint Local Government Account and provide for a special Account into which shall be paid all Allocation due to Local Government Councils from the Federation Account and from the State, and for related matters. Well done Sir.
“Our belief has told us that when we praise and appreciate, whoever is being appreciated does more, but today our selfish nature has made some to believe that when you praise someone he stops performing, that is why they deliberately close their eyes from seeing the very effort done by any current Government. It is time for us to wake up and do the right thing by commending any feasible effort of achievement, by so doing we motivate our leaders to do more.
“Haven appreciated the efforts of President Buhari led administration, we wish to appeal for a continuous performance, especially in areas of security, economy and education, because the pride of every great nation is to have a secured society with stable economy and sound educational system. We therefore call on the Government to continue to equip and motivate our security forces as well as create polices that will improve the economy while correcting errors that are destroying our educational system, especially resolving the giant challenges that are facing our university education which has been lingering for years, most especially the ASUU strike” he added.
The founder faithful faith and deliverance Ministry worldwide Apostle Anza Yakubu (JP) called on the government to accommodate all faiths, tribes and ethnic groups to give all a sense of belonging.
