According to the information commissioner, Soludo’s government believes in training unemployed citizens, especially youths, and equipping them with start-up capital to enable them to have a sustainable livelihood.

Dr. Mefor made the statement when he visited the “1Youth 2Skills TV Studio” of the state Ministry of Youth Development.

Dr Mefor, who was full of praises for the commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba said the ministry was really implementing Soludo government’s youth empowerment initiatives during the visit. He emphasised that the administration does not believe in giving the people rice or fish palliatives, but, “jobs, jobs and quality jobs.”

“Mr Governor (Soludo) does not believe in the government of palliatives that gives citizens rice or fish, but believes in the government that will teach you how to catch fish, train you on skills and give you necessary funds for a smooth take off, which is reflected in the 1Youth 2Skills Solution of Prof Soludo’s administration”.

He said the federal government has also adopted Soludo’s the initiative.

He praised the 1Youth 2Skills TV production crew for quality and professional service delivery and promised that his ministry “will support and promote the initiative, especially to the grassroots.”

He urged town unions to emulate the Obosi community that has started “1Family, 2Skills” in furtherance of Governor Soludo’s 1Youth, 2Skills programme.
